Sailing Route

Our sailing route on our Ski Touring Svalbard Norway trip is primarily weather dependent. However, in spring the weather is stable and so it is very likely that we will visit the following places in order.

  • Longyearbyen
  • Trygghamna
  • St. Johns Fjord
  • Prins Karls Foreland
  • Borebukta
  • Pyramiden
  • Ekmanfjorden
Our Sailing Vessel “Arctica II”

The boat trip on our 62 foot (approx. 19 meters) yacht “Arctica II” with five cabins with a total of 12 beds. The yacht is absolutely seaworthy and is licensed according to the high Norwegian safety regulations for the arctic sea.

Condition and ski technique requirements:

The stamina should be enough for about 1,300 m and 4 hours walking time. A descent in sometimes difficult snow conditions should be manageable. A routine in kick-turns will make sure you are not using up all your power before you reach the summit. Like this, you have enough strength to enjoy ski touring Svalbard in Norway.

The ski area is partly steep and also narrow. Of course, there are also large open spaces. Ski tourers will be amazed by the diverse landscape.
